Does ROSSO offer breakfast or other gastronomic services?

The ROSSO is a pure self-catering house without its own gastronomic services. All our stays have fully equipped kitchens where you can cook and prepare food. By default, all kitchens are equipped with olive oil, salt & pepper, sugar and a few spices from Sonnentor. In our farm store you can buy drinks (local soft drinks, good wines and Allgäu beers), different snacks, cheese, eggs and we also have bread baking mixes and half baked rolls to bake up. In addition, you can book our filled refrigerator which is a super basis for a light lunch or for breakfast. In the immediate vicinity of the ROSSO there are numerous shopping opportunities: Supermarkets, organic food stores and weekly farmers' markets. In our blog you will find many more tips for shopping.

What is included in the filled fridge Starter Package?

What can I buy in the ROSSO farm store?

In our farm store we offer some selected little things from great producers from the region, who produce organic food with passion. In season there are also apples, pears and grapes from the property. Everything else you can find in the surrounding area. Tips on this in the blog.

We plan to arrive by public transport. Can you recommend this and what is the best way to do it?

We are very much in favor if you leave the car at home and try to support it as best as possible. You can travel by train to Memmingen (about 35km away), Kempten (about 20km) or Dietmannsried (about 10km) and from there you can take a shuttle (https://fahrdienste-allgaeu.de/) or a cab to ROSSO. There are also irregular buses to Altusried. Even without a car you can spend a few relaxing days at ROSSO, walking and enjoying nature. There is a Bugaboo Butterfly stroller on site that we are happy to lend out to walk with children. And we have two e-bikes on site, which we rent out for a fee by the day or lend out for a short time to go to the village and do some shopping. We can also bring something from the village or take you shopping by arrangement. A basic stock of food and drinks is also available in our farm store, so you will not be left high and dry. As a small thank you for your CO2-neutral journey, we will donate a bottle of wine on the house or grant free use of our e-bikes for shopping and excursions.

What is the toddler package?

At ROSSO there are two complete sets for babies and toddlers, each consisting of a crib, a TripTrap high chair and a diaper pail. If needed, we also have a toilet seat, baby bouncer and outlet protection covers.

Can you host events and parties at ROSSO?

Yes and No. The ROSSO was created as a place of tranquility, to wind down and have time for the essential things in life. That's why we decided not to have weddings, bachelor parties or bigger celebrations at our place. That doesn't fit our philosophy and our premises are not really designed for that in terms of size. What is possible, however, are family reunions, retreats, seminars or offsites for small groups. We have a capacity of up to 15 beds if you book the whole house, and additionally with the “Atelier der langen Weile” and the Studio two big common areas for being together, cooking and sitting at the fireplace. Feel free to email us at anfrage@dasrosso.com and we will send you more information. Since we only offer a limited number of slots for groups per year and our existing partners have a certain privilege to book them first, please allow about a year for advance booking.

How do you find free slots at ROSSO, everything seems to be pretty much fully booked?

The best way to find a free date is to go to the page "Lodgings" and look through the availability calendar of your desired accommodation (e.g. under "La Bella availabilities"). There you can see transparently when something is available.

Can I bring my dog?

Well-behaved and house-trained dogs are allowed for a small cleaning fee of 30€ and are very welcome. But please keep them on a leash on the premises, there are free-roaming cats and chickens.

Is it possible to book only one or two nights at ROSSO?

Since our apartments are relatively large and have fully equipped kitchens, the cleaning effort and the associated consumption of energy and cleaning products are not in a sustainable and healthy ratio for us for such a short stay. Therefore, and because we also believe that to enjoy the real ROSSO vibe you need a bit of time, we have decided to introduce a minimum stay of 3 nights. You can also do a day of home office with us if in doubt, the internet connection is not blazing fast, but works wonderfully for normal work tasks.

When can I arrive at ROSSO on the day of arrival?

Since departure and arrival usually take place on the same day and we allow a general late check-out until 12am, we have set the arrival time to 3pm. By then your room should be freshly cleaned and ready to move in. If you want to arrive earlier, you can let us know in advance and we will try to make it possible. If you arrive earlier and your place is not ready yet, you are welcome to stay on the property, e.g. in the garden or in the Atelier der langen Weile and have a drink to recover from your arrival.

How does check-in and check-out work?

A few days before your arrival you will receive an email with more information and the phone number of the team member who will welcome you here. At the check-in you will be given a small tour of the house and yard and of course shown the details of your accommodation. Normally we have a check-in from 16:00, but you are welcome to contact us if you want to arrive earlier and we will try to organize something for you. The check-out is very uncomplicated. You can leave by 12:00 noon and just leave the key in the apartment in case you don't see us. Afterwards we will send you a final invoice by e-mail.

Do you have any tips for good restaurants nearby?

There are many restaurants and inns around ROSSO. Our favorites are the Weinstube Hensler in Kempten, the Gromerhof in Illerbeuren and the Alte Säge in Ermengerst. All about a 15-20 minute drive away. It is best to call there in advance and make a reservation. Some of them are closed on Monday and Tuesday. Check out our blog for many more tips on shopping and dining.

Is it possible to charge an e-car?

Yes, we have two wallboxes for you here, where you can fill up with electricity. Currently we charge 0,50€. We get our green electricity from EWS Schönau from the Black Forest. As soon as our planned photovoltaic system is installed (probably summer 2023), we will offer charging during the day, when the sun is shining, also for free.

What does an overnight stay at ROSSO cost (as of January 2023 - prices are subject to change - no guarantee)?

For two people, an overnight stay in La Bella costs 220€/night, in La Famiglia 230€/night and in La Grande 240€/night. For each additional person 30€/night will be added. Children under 6 years are discounted. In addition, we charge a final cleaning fee of 60€ per stay. The minimum stay is 3 nights.
